This breaks my heart and makes me so angry. Ego driven decision by the trump regime. Thank you for your reporting on this. (I will become a paid subscriber as soon as my budget allows.)
This one gutted me when the bulldozers started rolling. For those in political life Big Bend is where we can go in political years, after elections, to hop on the river. Haven't read the comments so maybe somebody already said something... but it look like maybe the Trumpistas may give in to avoid being the nail in the coffin for Ken Paxton at Corruption Central. Fine. Everything's going according to plan. Now Tejanos, you know what to do with Paxton. And the rest of us? Dozens of other places are still scheduled to be executed.
Why is it always an insufferable joke that people who have no fucking idea how to build anything assume that once made aware of a need to preserve that builders will destroy it for a project? It’s been acknowledged and whatever engineering needs to happen has the backing of the most powerful treasury in the world. So demand it is preserved and get on with the pearl clutching.
Seriously? I don't question their ability to put up a giant slab blocking the river view. Doesn't sound like the thinking of a stable, genius real estate developer, but hey I'm not one of those either.

Thanks for the kind words and for your support!
Oh, he cares about art now? Have you seen the White House?
Just damn him
