BLM has long fought anything good for the lands it oversees.

Cattle Ranchers & the Lumber Industry are diligent in keeping legislation their way.

This ruling is a wonderful surprise.

The BLM has been compromised & corrupt & accepting $$$$ under the table & mismanaging our public lands & slaughtering unbelievably many of our wildlife. All unnecessarily. They have needed new leadshio and an independent audit for YEARS:(

“The Department and BLM remain committed to administering public lands in accordance with the law..." If those words were in fact true, then federal grasslands and forests would be in much improved ecological condition than they presently are. American can thank cows (i.e., "production-oriented livestock") for those degraded conditions. The only boss that the federal agencies answer to are the cattlemen's associations and the logging industries.

Big win for justice and American Prairie!

Soil does not read press releases. Overgrazed range and thinned forest are the only audit that matters here, and they have returned the same verdict for decades while the statements improve every year.

he hates animals. he is selling wild horses to be slaughtered. and of course nobody does a fucking thing to stop him, including our wonderful democratic leaders. and don’t tell me they can’t because they could at least scream and yell about it. instead? crickets as usual.

Great article and great news. Good work guys it’s the news that your group research and publish that keep these self righteous and self serving public officials in check. Keep up the good fight.

Wolves, coyotes and bison are some of the keystone species in these public lands. This is a very shortsighted, destructive and greedy government.

What happens when this TRAITOR PEDOPHILE defies the court’s order?? Nothing, no accountability and he will continue the reckless destruction!

Now do the wild mustangs in Nevada, they are using a tax loophole to sell these protected animals to killers in Canada, they will not let the public see these horrible roundups taking place! To date 3700 wild mustangs have been slaughtered! This is a horrendous crime taking place!

I am 64 years old and have never seen so many Court cases, to stop the harm the president of our country is trying to impose.

The short sightedness and narrow views of the BLM and ranchers make sick. I farmed and ranched most of my life. The Pte' Oyate are the National Animal of the US. The BS about "production oriented" vs "wildlife" is a red herring and completely irrelevant where the National Animal is concerned. And this is before we get into what the Pte' Oyate mean to us Original People, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Contact you Representatives and Senators and activate them to straighten up the BLM.

Bison restore the ecosystem.

It's flabbergasting how many ways America's Monster and his administration are Fucked-up and EVIL!

Susan Mangum's avatar

Bison have restored the prairie lands. Without the bison the land will return to bare wasteland. China has found the same issue in land without native horses. This administration will find out you can’t eat money!

Everone give the Mars family's lawyers a round of applause.

Jimmy Tobias's avatar

The lawyers representing American Prairie are from Earthjustice and a boutique firm in Helena. As far as I know they don’t represent the Mars family, though that family is a major donor to AP.

Someone airdrop Trump into a wilderness area full of bison, please. 4 hours, just 4.
